Support by Shopping started in 2009 with the goal of benefitting supporters favorite large and local causes without any cost to the supporters or the causes. Support by Shopping simply shares affiliate commissions (revenue paid by stores for click thru purchases) with your favorite causes . The basic idea is that you're shopping with these great internet stores anyway, so why not help out your favorite charity, school, team, or cause at no extra cost?

Support by Shopping is operated as a lean organization in order to keep costs low and pass on more money to your causes. We simply provide a portal for you to shop and provide support at the same time. We manage relationships with stores and provide processing to get the funds to the causes. 80% of commissions go directly to the designated causes, and Support By Shopping keeps just 20%, which helps pay for improving the website functionality and offerings, hosting the website and all the administration.

As of winter 2009, we are in a pilot mode and hope to launch to a broader group of causes and geographies by the spring of 2010.
